German House

The German House offers students the opportunity to experience German culture on campus. Situated on the first floor of Giles Hall in the Randolph Complex, the German House is part of a language house community comprising eight residence halls dedicated to language improvement and cultural exchange.

The German House is not only a great place for students to live on campus, but it is also the site of weekly events organized by the German House tutor, a native speaker. At the House, students can participate in scheduled conversation hours or get individual tutoring to improve their German language skills. Moreover, the House offers a wide range of cultural events including but not limited to cooking events, movie nights, field trips, discussions of current events as well as big festivities like an Oktoberfest-themed barbecue in the fall. Students not only enjoy the sense of community that prevails at the German House, but with its weekly Kaffeeklatsch (coffee hour), the House has also become a refuge for students to unwind after a long week of studying.
