Recent News and Updates:

Bezawit Yohannes '18 is a writer and book reviewer who graduated from William & Mary in 2018 with a bachelor's in English and Medieval & Renaissance Studies. After taking W&M courses including Arthurian Literature Medieval Europe and Medieval & Renaissance Music she studied Arthuriana C.S. Lewis and medieval history abroad at the University of Oxford. She completed her master’s at Georgetown University in 2020 with a concentration in critical race studies and medieval studies, and presented her paper titled "Medieval Race and the Embodied Disruption of a Black Guinevere in BBC’s Merlin” at the Popular Culture Association 2019 conference. She currently works in digital marketing for Penguin Young Readers, the children’s book division of Penguin Random House. (04/21)

John P. Mulhall (B.A. in 2014) received an M.A. in Ancient History from Oxford University and is now a Ph.D. candidate at Harvard University. 

Steve Spishak (B.A. in 1992) was granted his Ph.D. from Fordham University and is now with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority

Amanda L. Scott (B.A. in 2009) is currently an Assistant Professor of History at Penn State University. She is "a social and cultural historian of early modern Iberia, with expertise in the Basque Country, the Spanish Empire, women's history, religion, courts and the law, and with broader thematic interests in comparative reformations, monasticism, witchcraft and inquisition." 

Jamie Staples (B.A. in 2010) is with the Department of English at the University of Pittsburgh. 

James Barnett Williams (B.A. in 2000) is the Executive Director of the Ron and Laura Strain Honors College, Department of History & Political Science in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Alexandra Wingate (B.A. in 2018) is currently a doctoral candidate at Indiana University in Library and Information Sciences.
