Current Research: Nineteenth Century US, History of Politics

Bio
Evan is interested in the history of politics in the United States, with a particular emphasis on organized political opposition to Jacksonian Democracy in the Antebellum Period. His current research examines the role that partisanship played in the deportation of Indigenous Nations during that era. Evan received his BA in History and Political Science from American University in 2018, and an MA in teaching, with a focus on Secondary Social Studies, from the Relay Graduate School of Education in Spring 2021. Before studying at William and Mary, he taught middle school social studies and science for two years in Wilmington, Delaware.
