Bio
Blake Puckett received his PhD in Law & Central Asian Studies from Indiana University in 2016, and also holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and an M.S. in Joint Campaign Planning and Strategy from the Joint Forces Staff College. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, served in Germany, Kuwait, Iraq, and in multiple U.S. embassies in the former Soviet Union and retired from the Army in 2019 after 28 years of active duty and reserve service. He retired from the senior executive service at the Defense Intelligence Agency in 2025, having served as a civilian since 2010 in the State Department, U.S. European Command, and as the senior Russia analyst for DIA.
His academic interests include military history, national security affairs, Russia and Eurasia regional issues, rule of law and corruption issues, and the role of ethics in international affairs. Blake’s calling has straddled the line between academia and on-the-ground presence and he hopes to help others faithfully link education and vocation through the work of Cambridge House, where he currently serves as President of the Board. Blake enjoys jogging through Colonial Williamsburg, hiking in the mountains, or a good round of Axis and Allies. Blake and his wife Paula have three young adult children and are proud “humans” to an African Basenji, Mocha.
