The competitive Dr. William M. Kelso Graduate Fellowships are offered in the field of early American studies to outstanding applicants to William & Mary’s MA/PhD or PhD programs in Anthropology, American Studies, or History.
Graduate Studies Advisory Board Master’s Fellowship
The Graduate Studies Advisory Board Master’s Fellowship is awarded to one outstanding applicant in each of William & Mary’s terminal MS programs in Biology, Chemistry, Computational Operations Research, and Psychological Sciences.
Michael R. Halleran Dissertation Completion Fellowships in the Humanities
The competitive Michael R. Halleran Dissertation Completion Fellowships in the Humanities are offered to support dissertation completion for William & Mary doctoral students in Anthropology, American Studies, and History.
Sanderson Award for Undergraduate Mentoring
Unlike the Teaching Assistant awards that are currently offered within some departments/programs, the Sanderson Awards for Undergraduate Mentoring recognizes mentoring in the context of undergraduate scholarship and research outside of classroom teaching.
Strikwerda Award for Excellence
The Carl J. Strikwerda Award for Excellence recognize William & Mary Arts & Sciences graduate students for their outstanding written papers on thesis research or scholarship to earn an MA, MS, or MPP degree.

Graduate students may nominate faculty for this award, which recognizes exemplary graduate mentoring that supports the advancement of students as scholars, teachers, and professionals. The Graduate Faculty Mentoring Award recognizes faculty adept within the broad spectrum of activities that makes up graduate mentoring.
