Sigma Gamma Epsilon at W&M

The National Honor Society for the Earth Sciences

Purpose

We are a group of Geology Juniors and Seniors who are passionate about sharing our knowledge of the geosciences with future generations of geologists at William & Mary and with surrounding communities. Our society has four main goals:

  • Provide tutoring sessions to students in introductory geology classes
  • Maintain an online presence, informing members of scholarship and career-building opportunities
  • Support W&M geoscience students by advocating for student needs to the Geology Department
  • Perform outreach to local community colleges in order to foster a deep love for the earth sciences and foster connections between the W&M Geology Department and fellow geoscience departments in Virginia

For students in introductory classes, we hold tutoring every Wednesday and Sunday from 5-6 PM in McGlothlin-Street Hall Room 230.

For other important dates, such as our planned Transfer Days, please reach out to the club email sge.wam@gmail.com.
