Sigma Gamma Epsilon at W&M
The National Honor Society for the Earth Sciences
Purpose
We are a group of Geology Juniors and Seniors who are passionate about sharing our knowledge of the geosciences with future generations of geologists at William & Mary and with surrounding communities. Our society has four main goals:
- Provide tutoring sessions to students in introductory geology classes
- Maintain an online presence, informing members of scholarship and career-building opportunities
- Support W&M geoscience students by advocating for student needs to the Geology Department
- Perform outreach to local community colleges in order to foster a deep love for the earth sciences and foster connections between the W&M Geology Department and fellow geoscience departments in Virginia
For students in introductory classes, we hold tutoring every Wednesday and Sunday from 5-6 PM in McGlothlin-Street Hall Room 230.
