Outside the classroom, all faculty members of the Department of Economics pursue active research agendas in their fields of expertise. Faculty members are frequent presenters at national and regional economics conferences, and faculty research publications appear regularly in the top general and field-specific economics journals. Several members of the Economics Department have been recognized with international awards, fellowships, and grants from funding agencies such as the National Science Foundation. Examples of faculty research can be found in Faculty Working Papers directory as well as on the websites of individual faculty members.
Many undergraduate Economics majors are also engaged in the research process, by working closely with individual faculty on honors projects and independent study courses. In some cases, faculty and student collaborations lead to coauthored conference papers and even publications.
