Summer Grants

Current Sharpe Community Scholars may apply for grants to conduct community and public service research. Each successful applicant will receive $3000 to carry out seven full-time weeks of research over the course of one summer. They will work closely with a faculty advisor and will share their work at the Fall Undergraduate Research Symposium hosted by the Charles Center.

To be eligible, applicants must be continuing students (i.e., not graduating seniors) in good academic standing.

Sharpe students may build upon the work they did during their freshman year in the program, but are not required to do so. Research may occur on campus or elsewhere, in the United States or abroad. If the project involves working with human subjects, Student IRB approval is necessary for funding.

Freshman and former Sharpe Community Scholars are eligible to apply.

The Charles Center administers the Sharpe Summer Research Grant. Applicants will adhere to the Charles Center's application procedures and project requirements.
