About / Contact Us

American Studies examines the cultural, racial, and national issues that shape the Americas. Our work explores history and culture in ways that cross the boundaries of traditional academic disciplines.

Our faculty have specialties that span Arts & Sciences. We partner with campus and local institutions of public history and culture. The result is a unique and dynamic environment ideal for interdisciplinary research and study.

Our students develop their own interests by working with faculty from other programs and departments on campus. Graduate students pursue a Master's or Ph.D. degree. Undergraduate students pursue a B.A. or minor in American Studies.
