Year 2 Host Students

We cannot wait to welcome you to the William & Mary community!

During your time at William & Mary, your experience will be similar to that of other W&M students. You’ll participate in orientation, live in the residence halls, and have access to the full range of student services and activities.

As you prepare to arrive in Williamsburg, there are three students groups who are excited to meet and support your through your JDP journey:

  • TAC Peer Advisor - The Advising Center (TAC) facilitates student peer advisors to help guide incoming W&M students through the pre-orientation module called College Studies. They help with registration, answer questions, and act as an introduction to life at William & Mary
  • Orientation Aide (OA) - Your Orientation Aide is your first taste of life at W&M. They guide your orientation through move-in, getting to know other new students, registration, and all the other fun traditions that mark William & Mary orientation. First years will go through orientation with their residence hall. Orientation as a second year is not very different from a typical orientation experience, there are just a few more events specific to the Joint Degree Programme.
  • WAMSTA Peer Advisor - The William & Mary St Andrews Student Partnership is a student run and led organization that plans events and maximizes student engagement at both William & Mary and St Andrews. There is one peer advisor for each of the six majors who are elected by students in the joint degree program each year. They are resources for academic questions, act as spokespeople for the program, and host weekly office hours.

Orientation for JDP Students *New* to W&M

Orientation, an enrollment requirement, occurs immediately prior to the fall semester to introduce all students new to William and Mary about the many aspects of student life, academic policies, and the honor code. The goal of each orientation program is to make our students feel right at home from the moment they set foot on campus, whether it’s their first time or if they’re joining us from across the pond / St Andrews.
