Whether you're a student receiving seed funding, or enrolled in our Tribe Ventures Program, or a Launchpad participant getting accelerator funding, here's what you can expect from our payment process.
Currently Enrolled Students (Undergraduate, Graduate, and International)
If you are currently enrolled, your payment will be processed through University Department Awards.
- Payments typically take 7–10 business days once all paperwork is submitted.
- Your payment will be issued through your student account.
- If you have direct deposit set up, funds will typically appear in your bank account within 7–10 business days.
- If you do not have direct deposit, a check will be mailed to the address listed in your student records.
- Depending on your citizenship or residency status, part of your payment may be withheld to comply with U.S. tax regulations. This is based on tax treaties between the U.S. and your home country.
- If you receive student loans or other forms of financial aid, this funding may affect your overall aid package.

Unenrolled Students (Between Semesters | Not Currently in Classes)
If you're a student who is between semesters (e.g., summer break) but haven’t graduated yet, we can still pay you—but not through the Department Award System.
- You must be set up as a student vendor in the university’s procurement system.
- Action Needed: We’ll initiate the enrollment request on your behalf. Once submitted, you’ll receive an email invitation to register.
You must complete the registration and submit all required documentation, including a W-9 (U.S. citizens) or W-8BEN (international), along with any additional forms requested by Procurement. - Processing Time: Expect 2–3 weeks from the time all forms are submitted.
- Payment Method: Direct deposit (if set up) or a mailed check to your listed address.
Recently Graduated Students
You are no longer considered a student in the university system and must be paid as a vendor through Procurement.
- Our team will initiate the vendor enrollment request for you. Once submitted, you’ll receive an email invitation to register.
- You’ll need to complete the registration and submit all required documentation, including a W-9 (U.S. citizens) or W-8BEN (international), plus any additional forms requested by Procurement.
- Processing Time: Expect 2–3 weeks from the time all required forms are submitted.
- Payment Method: Direct deposit (if set up) or a mailed check.
- Reminder: Even if you’ve been paid before, your previous student record cannot be used for post-graduation payments. Treat this as a new vendor setup to avoid delays.
Launchpad Members & Non-Student Vendors
If you’re not a student (whether you're a Launchpad entrepreneur or an external awardee) you’ll be paid through the university’s procurement system.
- What’s Required: You must be registered as a vendor in the university’s procurement system.
- Action Needed: We’ll initiate the vendor enrollment request for you. Once submitted, you’ll receive an email invitation to register.
- You’ll need to complete the registration and submit all required documentation, including a W-9 (U.S. citizens) or W-8BEN (international), plus any additional forms requested by Procurement.
- Processing Time: Typically 2–3 weeks from the time all forms are submitted.
If you're already an active vendor, payment may be processed faster—feel free to reach out to confirm your status. - Payment Method: Direct deposit (if set up) or a mailed check.
Timing & Reminders
- Payments will not be initiated until all required paperwork is submitted and approved.
- Processing times listed above reflect business days and do not include holidays or university closures.
- Submit all requested forms as soon as possible and keep an eye on your email for any follow-up or revision requests.
- Delays or incomplete submissions may reset the processing timeline.
