Joshua Rose is a lighting designer, scenic designer and projection/digital media designer for live performance. His career spans theatre, dance, opera, circus, concerts, live events, and permanent architectural installations. His work has travelled the world, fromThe Kennedy Center (DC), Lincoln Center (NYC), Pallacio de Bellas Artes (Mexico City DF), The Palace of the Arts (Budapest) and The National Center for Performing Arts (Beijing), to workshopping new works like A Bengal Tiger in the Baghdad Zoo in Off-Off-Broadway downtown basement theaters.
As the lighting supervisor/designer/technical director, Joshua toured the world with The Limon Dance Company. He has designed three shows that performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Including The Other Mozart, a one woman show that has been touring the world; being performed in four different languages, for over a decade.
Closer to home Joshua is the co-Artistic Director of Theatre 4the People. A non-profit co-operative structured theatre company in New York City. T4tP is dedicated to fostering the creation of new works by living artists, and making Theatre accessible for all, on stage, in the audience, and behind the scenes.
In his free time, Joshua enjoys writing for the stage and screen, cooking, eating, travel, and spending time with his grandchildren, (and their parents).
Joshua earned and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Stage Design from Southern Methodist University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Arts from The University of Utah.
