Schroeder Center Announces Two Summer Research Assistant Openings

The Schroeder Center for Health Policy will hire two research assistants for the summer of 2019.  The deadline to apply for both positions is February 22, 2019.  For position descriptions, please see below:

  1. Summer Research Opportunity – School Health Initiative Project

The Schroeder Center for Health Policy is accepting applications for a paid student research assistant for summer 2019. This research assistant will conduct data analysis related to the evaluation of the School Health Initiative Program (SHIP), a multi-component health and wellness initiative implemented in the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools and funded by the Williamsburg Health Foundation. Ideally, the assistant would work full-time for 7 weeks in June and July.  A student attending summer school, either session 1 or 2, could work part- time in some weeks. Undergraduate students are encouraged to apply. If selected, the undergraduate RA will be eligible for free on-campus housing.  The hourly rate is $12.00/hour.

Responsibilities:

- Analyzing data from program evaluation surveys using Stata software.
- Preparing summaries of statistical output (tables, figures, charts).
- Drafting a written report describing results.
- Attending occasional meetings with staff from SHIP and the Williamsburg Health Foundation.

Qualifications:

- Experience with Stata software (opening/merging datasets, creating variables, conducting hypothesis tests).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong writing skills. 
- A current William & Mary undergraduate student who is planning to return to the College in the fall semester.

The Schroeder Center for Health Policy is accepting applications for a paid student research assistant for summer 2019. This research assistant will work as part of a team examining the impacts of recent policy changes affecting persons covered by the Medicare program. Ideally, the assistant would work full-time for most weeks in the summer of summer sessions 1 and 2.  Undergraduate students are encouraged to apply. If selected, the undergraduate RA will be eligible for free on-campus housing.  The hourly rate is $12.00/hour.

Responsibilities:

- Analyzing household using Stata software.
- Preparing summaries of statistical output (tables, figures, charts).
- Conducting literature reviews.
