Last March, the Ethics Club won the 30th Annual Association for Practical and Professional Ethics Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl, earning the team its first national title. Traveling to St. Louis, Missouri, the students bested 36 undergraduate teams by examining ethical dilemmas ranging from political hypotheticals to medical case studies. Special credit is due to Bernardo Jimenez ‘26, Ethics Bowl Club founder and student coach, and Tim Sommers, faculty coach and visiting assistant teaching professor in philosophy. The title is evidence of hundreds of hours of practice, reading, and dedication from the team. To learn more about ethics bowling, read Professor Sommers’ articles at 3 Quarks Daily.
