Rocío Del Águila Gracey

Rocío del Águila Gracey is a scholar, educator, and poet that specializes in Contemporary Latin American Literature and Culture, Women’s writing, Gender and LGTBIQ+ Studies, and the interconnections between Central America and Peru. She has published several books of poetry such as La falsa piel que me habita (2013), Infinito (2015), Morada de los cuerpos de barro (2022), and an anthology called A la mitad de todos los caminos. Muestra de poesía escrita por mujeres peruanas (2021). She holds a Ph.D in Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Cultures from The Graduate Center, CUNY, a M.A. in Hispanic Studies from The University of Illinois at Chicago, and a M.A. in Gender Studies from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.  In 2021, she won the Marielle Franco Award from the Latin American Studies Association’s Gender and Feminist Studies Section for her essay "Cuerpo, mestizaje y colonialidad: la alteridad de las mujeres trans en las muestras fotográficas Padre Patria y Vírgenes de la Puerta".
