Wan-Chun Hu is from Taiwan and recently joined William & Mary as a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant for the Chinese program. She earned her master’s degree in TCSL(Teaching Chinese as a Second Language) from National Taiwan Normal University. Her academic interests include corpus linguistics, contrastive linguistics, and second language writing.
In Taiwan, she has taught at Mandarin centers, working with students from diverse backgrounds, including the United States, Germany, Japan, and Korea. Beyond teaching, she enjoys hiking, exploring new cultures, and sharing Taiwanese traditions, which often inspire the activities she brings into the classroom.
Over the next year, she will be responsible for teaching Chinese for Heritage Speakers, as well as serving as a tutor and organizing conversation classes at the Chinese House.
