Naghi Nemoto-Shahin
Japanese Studies
My name is Naghi Nemoto-Shahin, and I am a senior majoring in Japanese Studies at College of William & Mary. My research focuses on the film226 (1989) and its portrayal of the February 26 Incident, examining how historical events are reinterpreted through film in relation to political memory and concerns about militarization in late twentieth-century Japan. I am particularly interested in Japanese politics and history. After graduation, I plan to work at a university in Japan and apply the knowledge I have gained in history, politics, international relations, and Japanese culture, literature, and language to contribute to my future career in an international and academic environment.
