Hispanic Studies

I had not planned to become a major in Hispanic Studies. It was only when I had decided to delve into my first HISP class during my spring freshman semester that I finally found my calling within William & Mary. It was the diversity in academics that propelled me into HISP. I realized early on that HISP was never just about the Spanish language; it was much more, and I flourished during my time within the program. There is a plethora of various studies and concentrations that I didn't think were possible for one major. I studied abroad while making a case study while I was away. I studied Bilingualism through a close lens and used linguistics-related programs to comprehend its nuances. I also collaborated with my classmates to develop a website as a keepsake that showcases everything we learned in our class. I will certainly apply everything I learned in Hispanic Studies as I join the workforce, hopefully in a role that is worthwhile and meaningful to my studies.
