Katie Fitzgerald

Hispanic Studies

Katie Fitzgerald is a senior majoring in Hispanic Studies. During her time at William & Mary, she has been involved on campus as a Hispanic Studies Teaching Assistant for HISP 103, as a tutor forAprendiendo Juntos, and as a member of the Academic and Applied Esports program. After spending the past four years in Washington Hall, she will be moving to Charlottesville and attending the University of Virginia’s School of Education and Human Development, studying for a Master’s in Teaching Elementary Education. She hopes to become an elementary school teacher and bring her perspective of working with multilingual learners and Hispanic Studies to the classroom.
Katie has many thanks she wishes to give (and only so much space!) but is incredibly grateful for all of her fellow seniors and professors who have guided her along the way and welcomed her into the Hispanic Studies community. However, she would like to give a special thanks to Professors Oviedo and de Aguila Gracey for their guidance throughout the TA internship process and is very grateful for all of her students from both this semester and last fall. All in all, Katie is incredibly grateful for the Hispanic Studies department and the many moments she has been able to share with her friends and professors throughout the past four years; from Medical Interpretation video final projects to spoken-word poems, from film to reggaetón and literature analysis, she has enjoyed every moment of it.
