Ava Pastor

Hello! I am a Russian Studies (REES) and Chinese Studies double major. In general, I’ve always enjoyed the power of language, so I was so excited to make it the focus of my studies in college. I have gratefully had the opportunity to use language abroad - yet another reminder of how language can connect people from opposite sides of the earth. Learning a language gives so much perspective, and I hope to use language in the future to help people and improve international relations. A highlight from the language department has to be the Russian Language Olympics. Each year, it is so fun to get to know everyone in the department and embrace the language. In my free time, I enjoy being outside, hiking, making food, and watching movies. Overall, being a part of the W&M language department has truly made my experience so much better. The support and dedication I have received from the professors here has meant the world to me. Thank you!
