Chinese Studies & Math
I'm so glad I decided to major in Chinese Studies. I had always been interested in the language and culture and am so happy I decided to commit to studying it seriously. Chinese class was something I always looked forward to. Even though the material was difficult, Su Laoshi and Lin Laoshi made the vibe in the classroom so fun.
I studied abroad in Beijing the summer before junior year, and it is an experience that I will cherish forever. It was such a privilege to be able to focus on learning the language full-time. I can't believe how much we packed into those two months! From the bustling streets of Beijing to the amazing scenery of Inner Mongolia, we were so fortunate to experience so much in such a short amount of time.
I'm currently studying to become an actuary and am hoping to land a job as an actuarial analyst in the near future. I'm really looking forward to continuing my Chinese language journey after graduation, even if only as a hobby. Chinese has taught me more than anything that there is so much joy to be found in learning simply for the sake of learning.
