Hispanic Studies & Government

My experience as a Hispanic Studies major has been amazing. The program offers many unique courses that could help in many different avenues in life, one of my favorites being the Medical Interpretation class with Professor Carrion, who is an amazing professor. A highlight of my experience in the program has been the two times that I had a class with Professor Rivera and he would use us as a class to enjoy a celebratory lunch for finishing the semester. This made me as a student feel like a part of the Hispanic Studies ‘community’ – it was an experience where I was building stronger relationships with my classmates and truly felt appreciated by my professor. For the future, I plan to move to Puerto Rico with my daughter, and continue to go to work and go to school with the hopes to become an immigration lawyer!
