Hispanic Studies & History

Hi, my name is Maddie Kysilko, and I am a senior majoring in Hispanic Studies and History. I can honestly say I have enjoyed and learned so much from every single class I have taken in the Hispanic Studies department. Since it’s a small major, I have really gotten to know other students, which has made the last four years all the more memorable. My favorite experiences have been studying abroad in Sevilla for a semester and working as a TA for HISP 203. With the encouragement of Profesora Cate, I also submitted a paper I wrote in her capstone Imagina otro mundo en España to El Cid Journal, which will be published this summer. Next year, I will be teaching English in Andalucía, Spain with the NALCAP program, and I owe so much of this to the opportunities and support offered by the Hispanic Studies department.
