Niko Gamboni

Hispanic Studies & History

Hi! My name is Niko Gamboni, majoring in both History and Hispanic Studies. When I started with the department in my freshman year I had no plan to pursue a major in Hispanic Studies. Yet here I am, four years later, writing my Honor's Thesis in the department and taking classes in both French and Japanese Studies. My experience in MLL has meant a lot to me. The community that this department builds is one of the closest on campus and I owe it many of my closest relations, both with peers and professors. Two summers ago I made the decision to study abroad in Cádiz with Professor Cate, and apart from the fun that I had, it was there that I stumbled upon my research which I have developed into my thesis. I am hoping to continue in academia and teach 19th century Spain. MLL and Hispanic Studies have been such a central part to my time at William and Mary and I am grateful for each and every person that makes the department and community what it is.
