Dean Waters
Chinese Studies & Economics
Studying Modern Languages at William & Mary has been the highlight of Dean's college experience. In Washington Hall he's learned Mandarin Chinese to fluency, reaching a high level of Russian proficiency, become conversational in Japanese, and learned the basics of Arabic. He has helped others engage in these languages by being a TA for Chinese 101-102, the RA for the Russian/Japanese House, and by leading weekly conversation hours for intermediate Russian speakers.
Dean is especially grateful for Professor Bella Feliksovna and Professor Chunying Lin for teaching him skills that he has used every day in college and will continue to practice in his future.
