Chinese Studies & International Relations
I came to William and Mary with some experience with the Chinese language, as I had lived in Beijing for three years previously. However, my Chinese language and cultural knowledge has improved exponentially due to the quality of the Chinese program. Su Laoshi, Lin Laoshi, and Professor Hill have been particularly influential on my journey with the program. In 2022, I was fortunate to study abroad in Taiwan through the Project GO program. This was among the best experiences of my academic life, and I am so thankful I was given the opportunity to explore the country.
After graduation, I plan to be commissioned into the US Army as a second lieutenant and work in the intelligence field. I hope to utilize the Chinese language skills I developed at William and Mary and further hone them as I continue with life. I will miss the Chinese department, my professors, and my classmates, but I am excited for what's to come.
