Russian Studies
My journey with the RPSS program began with a curiosity to explore a new language. Little did I know that this decision would change my life forever and open up a world of opportunities. I quickly realized that language is not just a means of communication; it is a gateway to understanding and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. One of the most valuable lessons I learned during my time with the RPSS program is the priceless nature of language. Some of my best memories are during Russian conversation hours with the Russian International Fellow, Sasha Orlova and office hours with Professor Bella Ginzbursky-Blum. My RPSS degree has served as a common ground where ideas could be shared and friendships could be formed. One of the highlights of being part of the RPSS program is celebrating Maslenitsa, a traditional Russian festival that marks the beginning of Orthodox lent. Looking back on my experience, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities I have had to grow and learn. As I move forward to a career in intelligence, I will carry the lessons and memories from my time that have shaped me into a more open-minded and culturally aware individual.
