Hispanic Studies & Government
During my time as a Hispanic studies major at William and Mary, I experienced many meaningful moments. My Hispanic studies classes have been some of the best I have taken here. The classes opened my eyes to other cultures and ways of thinking and living. Prior to my time at William and Mary, I could have never imagined I would study abroad in Latin America. But through the major, I spent almost 6 months of my junior year studying abroad in La Plata, Argentina. All the cliches are true. It was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. While I do not know what comes next, I hope I will have the opportunity to use the Spanish I have learned at William and Mary after graduation. The language has allowed me to explore the world literally, and I hope to continue traveling the Spanish-speaking world. I feel very fortunate to have been a language major. The professors in the language department are incredible, and I could not recommend pursuing a language more. Learning a language is a feat, but it is also one of the most rewarding experiences you can have in college, so please consider it. You will not regret it!
