May May Drimer
Hispanic Studies & Kinesiology
Before coming to William & Mary, I had not considered majoring in Hispanic Studies. However, I knew that I wanted to enroll in a few Spanish courses just for fun. Over time, my love for the language combined with my deep admiration for Professors Terukina, Carrion, and Rio, confirmed the decision that I needed to stay in the department and establish roots. My favorite class by far was Spanish Medical Interpretation with Prof Carrion. The course allowed me to combine my two majors/passions: Hispanic Studies and Public Health. I hope to continue to use Spanish in a medical area abroad in the future. Speaking of abroad, a major highlight of my time in college was when I studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I even traveled to Mendoza and Iguazu Falls with other W&M students! I am so appreciative of the support and encouragement I received from all in the HISP department, and I am excited to take my next steps!
