French & Francophone Studies & Biology

Once I started French at William & Mary I knew I couldn't stop.  Pursuing a French major alongside amazing peers and wonderful faculty gave me one of the best experiences I've had at William & Mary.

During my french career, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Montpellier France.  I was able to not only complete research, but I was also able to learn about the culture with my host family who broadened my knowledge of the French culture.

I am grateful to have the opportunity to be taught by such wonderful faculty at William & Mary.  Starting with Madame Compan who inspired me and gave me the hope I needed to become a French major.  It was a once in a lifetime experience to learn from her while in Montpellier landform her to share the rich culture France has to offer.  I also learned so much from Monsieur Leruth and Monsieur Brehm who encouraged me to explore opportunities that would enrich my learning in the French department.  It was so much fun to host "La Fête de la Recherche" alongside my classmates, and I'm honored to have had the experience!  Additionally, I am thankful to Madame Pacini who  taught me the ways of French writing, literature and how to challenge myself to produce my best work.  She worked with me time and again to help me with various projects and her classes are the most fascinating and engaging I've ever had the pleasure of being involved in.  Her passion for the work she does is contagious and I'm thankful for everything she's taught me.

Although I'm sad to end my time in the French department, I'm excited to use my acquired knowledge to pursue a career in Medicine as I apply to medical school this term!
