Bachelor’s-to-Master’s Accelerated Pathway (BMAP) for W&M Undergraduate Students
The College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) offers a Bachelor’s to Master’s Accelerated Pathway (BMAP) for the following:
The COR BMAP allows undergraduate students to take graduate coursework that can count for both their undergraduate and graduate degree at William & Mary. An additional benefit of this option is that the double counted graduate coursework may be covered by financial aid. Students are advised to consult with their Financial Aid Counselor to review the financial aid implications of participation in the COR BMAP. The COR BMAP allows up to 9 credit hours of graduate coursework to be applied to both the undergraduate degree and the M.S. degree in COR.
COR BMAP Requirement:
- An overall GPA of at least 3.0 at the time of application to the COR BMAP.
- Students must have completed at least 54 undergraduate credit hours (including MATH 109 (or 211), MATH 212, and CSCI 141 or the equivalent) at the time of the application to the COR BMAP.
- Students must apply separately to the master's program. Admission to the COR BMAP does not guarantee admission to the master's degree program. Review of applications for the M.S. degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Operations Research begins on March 1 of each academic year.
Application and Acceptance:
- Students wishing to apply to the COR BMAP must submit a BMAP Application Form (link here).
- Once accepted into the COR BMAP, students will complete the BMAP Double Count Form (sample PDF) each semester to be registered for the desired graduate courses that double count for both undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
Deadlines:
- A COR BMAP Application Form may be submitted when the student is a social junior (at least 54 earned credit hours), and satisfies all the requirements listed in the University's BMAP Policy. Applications must be submitted no later than the start of the semester in which the undergraduate degree is awarded.
- Undergraduate students must submit BMAP Double Count Forms by the add/drop date of each semester that they are enrolled in the BMAP. Be sure to include any previously approved double counted courses on the Double Count Form.
