Title: Prediction in Healthcare using Queueing and Machine Learning Models
Abstract: Prediction stands at the heart of many operational problems. In this talk, I will discuss two prediction problems that arise in health care operations management. The first is predicting congestion in ICUs, and the second is predicting patients' waiting times. The general approach integrates queueing theory with machine learning, in order to develop practical/interpretable solutions and insights.
