New Curriculum & Transition

New Degree Programs

The Department of Health Sciences has developed two new degree programs - 1) BS in Human Health & Physiology (HHP) and 2) BA/BS in Public Health(PBHL). Courses for these new degree programs will be offered in Fall of 2025. Only students planning to graduate in the Spring of 2026 or later will be eligible to declare a major under these two new degree programs. The curriculum for the new degree programs can be found in the links below.

A key to the KINE courses that will count as HHP or PBHL courses can be found in here.

Phase out of Kinesiology Degrees

As a result of these changes, the Kinesiology degrees will be phased out.  The last day to declare a Kinesiology major (and any associated concentration) was Friday, January 31st, 2025. Students who declared the Kinesiology major will be able to complete their degrees, however, starting Fall of 2025 courses will be listed as either HHP or PBHL courses. The following documents provide a key to which courses in HHP and PBHL correspond to the previous KINE courses needed to complete the requirements for the Kinesiology degree.

All degrees require satisfying the major computing requirement and major writing requirement. BS degrees require passing three additional NQR courses within or outside of Kinesiology.

Options for Students

Students graduating before Spring 2026

  • Students graduating before Spring of 2026 are only eligible to declare the Kinesiology major and associated concentrations.

Students graduating Spring 2026 or later
