Two Full-Time One Year Positions in Comparative politics/IR

The Department of Government of the College of William & Mary invites applicants for two full- time appointments in Comparative Politics/International Relations at the Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor level.  The appointments will be for the 2012-2013 Academic Year, starting August 9, 2012.  Candidates should have demonstrated success teaching undergraduates.  The Department has a preference for a candidate who can teach Latin American politics or South Asian politics.  Successful applicants would also be expected to teach introductory or advanced courses in comparative politics, international relations and/or research methods. Teaching load is three courses per semester (two preparations). Candidates should have a completed PhD; however, advanced ABDs may be considered. This is a full-time position with benefits.

 

The Department of Government consists of 23 full-time faculty members, and graduates more than 180 students each year with a major in Government. Students majoring in International Relations and Public Policy complete a substantial number of their courses in the Department of Government.  The College of William & Mary, the second oldest university in the United States, is one of the nation’s most selective institutions. It enrolls approximately 5,800 undergraduates and 2,500 graduate and professional school students. Salary and teaching responsibilities are highly competitive.
