Book Launch for Professor Kelly Zvobgo

The Global Research Institute, with co-sponsorship from the Government Department and W & M Libraries, hosted a book launch for Professor Kelly Zvobgo, Mansfield Associate Professor of Government.  Zvobgo’ s book, Governing Truth: NGOs and the Politics of Transitional Justice was published this February by Oxford University Press.

Governing Truth tells the story of how civil society groups, particularly NGOs, influence the adoption, design, implementation, and impact of transitional justice mechanisms, such as truth commissions, around the world. The book draws on exciting quantitative data assembled over three years with seventeen student researchers from University of Southern California and William & Mary, as well as focus groups and interviews with representatives of NGOs, international organizations, governments, and truth commissions from more than a dozen countries.
