TribeCyber Has Spoken

William & Mary’s TribeCyber Red Team has earned an impressive standing in the National Cyber League (NCL) Spring 2025 competition, finishing 2nd overall in the nation, 1st in the East, and 1st among Centers of Academic Excellence institutions. The team, made up of Walker Knapp, Lily Gloudemans, Taylor South, Zach Bowden, Matthew Esposito, Whitt Sanders, and Luna Harrison, outperformed competitors from over 500 campuses and nearly 10,000 participants. Their success showcases the exceptional commitment of the students and the high quality of the university’s cybersecurity training program.
The NCL challenges participants with practical cybersecurity tasks, including cryptography, ethical hacking, and network traffic analysis, testing their ability to handle real-world scenarios. The TribeCyber Red Team’s strong performance reflects their extensive preparation and mastery of these complex skills. Faculty advisor Dr. Matthew A. Chapman pointed out that the students’ diligence and the program’s thorough training played a crucial role in this achievement, highlighting both individual effort and the collaborative spirit within the Computer Science Department.
