CSCI Undergraduate Program Rises to #54 in national rankings

Good work gets noticed! In the 2026 USNews and World Report rankings of undergraduate Computer Science Program, CS@W&M soared 10 spots from 2025 and 28 spots in just two years! Our current ranking is #54 among all 601 ranked public and private undergraduate computer science programs. We share spot #54 with powerhouse programs at Indiana University-Bloomington, Michigan State, Tufts, the University of Arizona, UC Riverside, Stony Brook, RIT, and Rutgers. What’s remarkable? All of these universities are much larger than CS@W&M—yet we’re right there with them. In Virginia, we rank #3 after Virginia Tech and UVA. Among public undergraduate programs, we rank at #34.
