Panoussi Publishes New Book on Vergil

Vassiliki (Lily) Panoussi was thrilled to receive the news of her promotion to Associate Professor earlier this year. She continues work on her new book, Brides, Mourners, Bacchae: Women's Rituals in Roman Literature. Her article, “Roman Cultural Identity in Cicero’s Pro Archia” was published in Ἀντιφίλησις: Studies on Classical, Byzantine and Modern Greek Literature and Culture in Honour of John-Theophanes A. Papademetriou, edited by E. Karamalengou and E. Makrygianni, and published by Stuttgart's FranzLily Panoussi Steiner Verlag. She contributed entries to The Virgil Encyclopedia, edited by R. Thomas and J. Ziolkowski which is to be published by Oxford's Wiley-Blackwell. She is planning to give a paper on Propertius' Hercules at the annual meeting of the American Philological Association in January. She was also elected as a member of the Executive Committtee of the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS).
