Michael Draeger's Light Installation on JMU Campus
W&M Art & Art History Studio Technician, Michael Draeger, with collaborator Edwin Baruch, designed, built, and erected a sculptural light installation on the campus of James Madison University, now on view through 2024.
Michael Draeger explains: "Using unconventional materials (steel mesh, concrete and LED lights), the piece gives a novel lightness to neoclassical forms like columns and arches which we most often see rendered in heavy materials like stone and concrete."
