Biography
Carly Barnhardt is an interdisciplinary scholar specializing in 20th- and 21st-century literature and visual culture. Her work primarily draws on feminist theory, psychoanalysis, disability studies, and literary criticism and methods. Her research has focused on the representation of the (racialized, gendered, disabled) body in photography and literature, and artists' challenge of those representations through self-portraiture.Education
