COVID 19 update
  • Access Virtual Health & Wellness for articles, on-demand videos, and live online events.
  • The Student Health Center is currently accepting calls Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.  Appointments are made through a screening process and will be virtual whenever possible. In-person appointments will be arranged when deemed necessary. Please call 757-221-4386.

Integrative wellness incorporates a variety of perspectives and health professionals to help you find personal harmony with a multidimensional approach to your individual needs. Our care providers address a wide spectrum of needs and may refer you to additional resources on or off campus to address your health plan.

The Student Health Center provides a full-range of primary care services including the evaluation, treatment and prevention of all kinds of acute or chronic physical, mental and social health issues.

Counseling Center

The Counseling Center offers appointments for initial assessments throughout the week from 10 am – 3 pm, except during 12-1 pm. Students can walk into the Counseling Center if they feel that their issues are urgent or a student can schedule a triage appointment if unable to wait until the next available initial assessment.

Massage & Reiki

Massage Therapy and Reiki sessions help to ease physical and emotional tension. Appointments are provided by certified professionals and are available to Students, Faculty, Staff, and the Community at the Student Recreation Center and the McLeod Tyler Wellness Center.

W&M Trainers are nationally certified and provide education, motivation, and guidance to help all clients achieve their goals. Get a personalized exercise program that reflects your individualized fitness level and experience and includes fitness assessments, goal setting, proper workout techniques, and health education.

Yoga Therapy

Although all yoga is potentially therapeutic and healing, yoga therapy is the specific application of yogic tools — postures/exercises, breathwork, meditation techniques, and more — to address an individual’s physical, mental and emotional needs.
