Alert Style

Highlight a paragraph of text.

By applying the alert style to a paragraph of text, it will appear with a gray background to help it visually stand out from other content on the page. Easy does it — as with other treatments that embellish text, you don't want to overdo it. This feature is typically used when an alert message or temporary update needs to be highlighted on a page.

Sample alert styling on a paragraph. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Duis convallis facilisis ipsum sit amet consequat.

Add an alert:
  1. Add a paragraph of text to the page.
  2. Highlight the paragraph with your cursor.
  3. Select the Formats >> Custom sub-menu and select the alert style.
  4. Add a heading above the paragraph, within the alert box, if desired.
  5. Click Preview Draft to review the page.
  6. Click Submit >> Check Content & Submit. Then publish.

To remove the style, edit the page, highlight the text, click the Format menu and select Clear formatting.

Formatting guidelines:
  • Basic text elements in the editor will work with the alert style applied — hyperlinks, bold, italics.
  • You can apply the alert style to multiple paragraphs.
  • Try to keep alert content simple for an easy to read presentation.
Troubleshooting
I applied the alert style but my alert content is broken up into multiple gray boxes.

If you experience formatting issues, try highlighting the affected content, click the Format menu and select Clear formatting. Then try applying the alert style again.

I applied the alert style to a paragraph of text and a heading, and it removed the styling from my heading.

Once the alert style is applied, re-apply the heading style to the heading text within the alert box.
