Providing access to data for reporting, analysis, and decision making

The Data & Analytics team provides high-quality data solutions, analytical tools, and insights that enable timely, informed decision-making across the university. The team partners with Institutional Research, academic units, administrative offices, and IT to solve key data challenges, design effective solutions, and continuously enhance W&M’s enterprise analytics platform; ensuring secure, trusted, and standards-aligned access to institutional data. 

Data & Analytics leads and the university-wide Data & Analytics Team (D&AT), sponsored by the Data Governance Advisory Committee (DGAC), and builds the foundation for responsible AI by ensuring that well-governed, high-quality data powers future innovation at William & Mary. 

What we do:

• Deliver timely, high-value insights and operational reports that support leadership and daily decision-making. 
• Consult with campus units to frame data questions, solve problems, and support major committees and projects. 
• Promote broad, easy access to reliable data and encourage analytical innovation across the university. 
• Design and evolve W&M’s secure, scalable analytics platform to improve access while maintaining trust and accountability. 
• Prepare W&M for responsible AI by ensuring high-quality, well-governed data is available for future models. 
• Support student innovation through mentorship and applied data projects with the IT Graduate Fellow program. 
• Strengthen university-wide data standards, quality, and governance in partnership with IT, Data Leads, Product Owners, and Stewards.
