D.C. Summer Session Planning Timeline

Important dates for faculty teaching in the Hybrid DC Summer Session.

Date	Key Event
January	Course topics and faculty confirmed for the following summer (e.g. course topics for Summer 2027 will be selected in January 2026)
Early September	Advertising begins
Throughout Fall	Mandatory course development with the Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation (100-150 hours for newly selected faculty; shorter refresher training for returning faculty)
Early April	Campus Information Session for interested students
Throughout Spring	Training with the Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation
Summer semester	Course runs, including one week in-person in D.C.
