Mona Garimella '27 selected to the 2026 Governor's Fellows Program

Congratulations to Mona Garimella ’27, who was selected to the thirty-member cohort of the 2026 Governor’s Fellows Program. This year the program received a record number of applicants and the selection process was competitive.  The program places rising college seniors, recent college graduates, and graduate students within the Office of the Governor and Governor Spanberger’s cabinet.  During an eight-week paid fellowship, participants engage in learning opportunities to gain a unique understanding of government operations and policy making.

Mona Garimella, a government and psychology major, also is a 2025-2026 McGlennon Scholar. Garimella is editor-in-chief of the Flat Hat. Her research interests include democratic erosion and Afghan migrant resettlement post-2021.
