Govt. Professor Rani Mullen Quoted by Sputnik International

Rani D. Mullen, an Associate Professor in Government, specializes in Comparative Politics and International Relations of South and Southeast  Asia. Prof. Mullen was recently quoted in Sputnik International, in an article discussing the Indian-American community and its impact on elections in the United States. Prof. Mullen commented on the influence of this growing demographic group by stating that Indian-Americans, “fear the racism Trump has unleashed and they understandably oppose Trump’s immigration policies.”

Prof. Mullen teaches Introduction to Comparative Politics, Politics of Developing Countries, South Asian Politics and State Building in Afghanistan. She joined the Government Department after earning degrees from Princeton and John Hopkins Universities. She also served as Senior Fulbright-Nehru Fellow, worked at the World Bank, had roles in International Development and was a legislative assistant for a German parliament member. She recently was on sabbatical for two years at the National University of Singapore working on the politics of the Indo-Pacific. Her world view is appreciated both on campus, and across the world, as an expert on South and increasingly Southeast Asia.
