Bray School Foundation at Gates Hall

The exciting data recovery efforts down the street at Gates Hall (formerly Brown Hall) garners media attention, in conjunction with the development of Colonial Williamsburg's displaying the reconstructed Bray School. The Center shares their progress uncovering and analyzing the original Bray School foundation.

Brick Kiln at the Wren Building

In spring 2025, W&MCAR archaeologists uncovered the remnants of a brick kiln used to construct the Wren Building. Fox News posted a video interview with the Center's Elizabeth Monroe and Tom Higgins. Archaeology Magazine also picked up the story.
