The Faculty Assembly of William & Mary is the elected faculty body that regularly advises the President and the Provost on matters affecting the welfare of the university and that ensures effective faculty participation in the governance of the university as a whole.
The Assembly represents the five faculties of the university: Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Law, and Marine Science, and seven constituencies: Arts & Sciences Areas I, II, and III, and Business, Education, Law, and Marine Science.
The Assembly has twenty-one voting members: four from each of the three Areas, two from each of the professional schools, and the faculty representative to the Board of Visitors. An non-voting NTE member will be added if all of the elected members are all tenure-eligible.
For the 2020-2021 academic year, all meetings will be by Zoom until further notice. They will take place on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5:00 pm on September 8, October 13, November 10, December 8, January 26, February 16, March 16, April 13, and May 11.
The executive committee will meet on September 15, September 29, October 27, December 15, January 12, February 2, March 9, March 30, April 20, and May 18.
Board of Visitors meetings are scheduled for September 24-25, November 18-20, February 3-5, and April 21-23.
