Privilege Cards & Membership

Current full-time students, faculty and staff member at William & Mary have a valid membership to the Student Recreation Center. Part-time students, graduate students, family members, university affiliates and community members may purchase a membership. If you do not have a W&M issued ID card, Campus Recreation will issue a "Privilege Card" for access to the Student Recreation Center.

Undergraduate and graduate students that have not paid Student fees are required to purchase a membership to utilize the Student Recreation Center. The membership rates are based on the current student fee assessment as approved by the BOV.

** University Affiliate is defined as someone who works "at" the university but not "for" the university. Examples include Sodexo employees, programs funded exclusively by grants, various institutes, and associations located on campus.

Print your application

1. Submit your completed application and liability waiver and fee to the Recreation Center front desk. Payments may be made by cash, check, credit/debit card, or W&M Express.  Checks should be made out to "W&M Campus Recreation".

2. Photo ID is required. Your pass will be made and issued by W&M Campus Recreation at the time of payment.

Using Your Campus Recreation Privilege Card and Facilities

1. Your Campus Center Privilege Card is required to use the Campus Recreation open recreation facilities. Use of these facilities are restricted to those times not used by club sport practices, intramural events, facility rentals, and reservations. These days and times vary. 

2. No one under 18 years of age is allowed to use the Student Recreation Center except during the designated Family Recreation times. 

3. Fitness classes are offered throughout the year.  A Group Fitness pass or a Daily Drop-In pass is required.  Classes are first-come-first-serve. Go to the Group Fitness Page for more information about Fitness Class Prices, Class. Descriptions and Online Registration.

4. Schedules of facility hours and other information are available in the Student Recreation Center.  Call the Hotline, (757) 221-3310, opt. 1 for daily updates on facility hours.

5. Privilege Card holders are allowed to bring two guests per visit. See Guest Policies.

6. Parking: The following information is from the William & Mary Motor Vehicle Parking & Traffic Rules and Regulations developed by the Office of Parking Services:

  • A decal or temporary pass is required to park on campus property at all times, beginning Monday at 7:30 a.m. until Friday at 5:00 p.m., except at metered spaces.

  • Metered spaces are enforced as posted.  Spaces marked “Reserved at all times”, “Faculty/Staff at all times” and “Service Vehicle” spaces are enforced 24 hours per day, seven days a week.  Parking is not permitted in any area not specifically designated for parking (spaces marked with curb blockers, signs or striped spaces).  Parking is not permitted on sidewalks, brick pathways or grass.

8. Any alteration of your Privilege Card is cause for immediate revocation of privileges and loss of payment. Use of another’s card is cause for loss of card and removal from premises.

9. A $10.00 replacement fee will be charged for lost Privilege Cards.
