Many funding opportunities support research that spans multiple disciplines or falls outside traditional academic fields. W&M faculty pursuing interdisciplinary scholarship have access to a variety of internal and external funding resources.

  • (New) Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Education and Human Resources (IUSE: EHR)
    • National Science Foundation 
    • Description: NSF’s Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE: EDU) program supports innovative, evidence-based projects that improve undergraduate STEM teaching and learning. Projects may focus on student engagement, curriculum and instructional practices, STEM persistence and retention, and institutional transformation.

  • (New) Focused Technology Research and Development (R01)
    • National Institutes of Health
    • Description: NIH/NIGMS R01 funding opportunity supporting the development of innovative technologies that enable biomedical research.
